એનસીબીના સત્તાવાર સમાચાર સૂત્રોના જણાવ્યા અનુસાર, ગત જૂન મહિનામાં જેનુંં શંકાસ્પદ સંજોગોમાં મૃત્યુ થયું હતું તેની માટે કોઈ પણ ચાર્જશીટ હજી સુધી એજન્સીએ દાખલ કરી નથી. કેટલીક લિન્કની તપાસ ચાલી રહી છે. એનસીબીએ ગત વરસમાં ઓગસ્ટ મહિનામાં સુશાંત સિંહ રાજપૂતના મામલે ડ્રગ્સ સાથે જોડાયેલા બે કેસ દાખલ કર્યા હતા. એનસીબીએ સુશાંત સિંહની પ્રેમિકા રિયા ચક્રવર્તી અને તેના ભાઈ શોવિક ચૌધરીની ધરપકડ કરી હતી. હાલ તો આ બન્ને જણા જામીન પર બહાર છે. એનસીબીએ ડ્રગ્સના મામલે નવોદિત અભિનેત્રી સારા અલી ખાન, શ્રધ્ધા કપુર, દીપિકા પદુકોણ, રકુલ પ્રીત સિંહ, સહિત બોલીવુડ સાથે સંકળાયેલી કેટલીક વ્યક્તિઓની પૂછપરછ કરી હતી. સીબીઆઈની તપાસનું શું થયું, એની તપાસ કયા તબક્કે પહોંચી છે એ અંગે હજી કશી સ્પષ્ટતા કરવામાં આવી નથી. સુશાંત સિંહ રાજપૂતની ભૂતપૂર્વ મેનેજર જયંતી શાહ, દીપેશ સાવંત. સેમ્યુઅલ મિરાંડા જેવા સુશાંત સિંહના અન્ય કર્મચારીઓના નામ પણ આવ્યા હતા. દરેક વ્યક્તિની પૂછપરછ કરી હતી, પણ હજી કશી નક્કર માહિતી કે તપાસની વિગતો જાહેર થઈ નથી.
